Hey Lady, Yes I'm back in town- at least for a minute:-) I have another school to add to our book tour. The foundation represented in front of several groups of second graders Tuesday in Little Rock. I can hardly wait to talk with you more about it. This Sunday afternoon works well for me to catch-up/meet. How about for you?
I like your approach to Facebook. If I join, I could just do what I can, when I can, and not let it overwhelm me. And yes! With little ones it will be important to try to stay up with what they're doing. Of course, they don't have to add us as friends. ha ha. I did, however, join Twitter, and I'm trying to figure out my way around it. Should be interesting. In the meantime, Rhonda, keep up the good work!
Hey Rhonda! I happened to find your comment from last week. (remember to make your comments to each person's page, then they'll get an email notification that they have a message from you.)
I'm telling you, I'm torn on this Facebook thing. My main concern is spending too much time on it. (But I suppose I'm a big girl who can learn to limit herself.) You may just be the one who talked me into it! I've gotten several invitations, and since I'm not a member, I have no idea how people are finding me. (I have the urge to cue Twilight Zone music here.)
Anyway, thanks for the pep talk. I may have to get with the 21st Century. I hear it's super interesting to catch up with old friends. I'll keep you posted, but consider me a new friend!
Meg... I am going to send you an invite to my facebook so you can accept, if you drop in a few of your friends emails or search for some more friends, you will be amazed at the number of folks you can connect with. Try it!
You're welcome for the "heads up." My apologies if you were already on track delivering your message. Just didn't want anyone missing your input.
You're on Facebook, huh? I'm impressed. I'm familiar with it but I've held off joining, much to the dismay of many potential "friends."
And thanks for your fantastic participation on this site. As a wealth of knowledge, you help people enjoy their profession even more, and help them keep up with some of the latest developments. We appreciate your insight.
Keep in touch. And less than 4 months to UOR!
do you have a connection with the infant toothbrushes?
If possible...can you send the box the LEAST expensive way?
We're working on a SMALL budget to start off.
You have the address right?
Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to make sure I could sit down and take the time to give my feedback. I am soooo excited for you!! I wish like crazy these "bass-ackward" Texans would allow us the same opportunity. Way cool! 1000 is good. I will send 10 boxes of course in 1 box. What would be the preferred method of mailing UPS FedEx or US Postal? I will send you the invoice for the postage via paypal once I mail off. However, please let me know if there are any budget limiatations, some mailing methods are more than others so....we don't want to give the new business any surprises! :)
Healthy snacks would be great! You may want to consider minimizing liability or limitations by making sure they are 'pre-packaged' so...figuring out what is going to fit in that category is the next step. If you don't get hung up on the logistics or limitations, I say fruit - apples or prepackaged cheese crackers all day long. Goes well with that underlying message of firm and fibrous to stimulate saliva flow and of course cheese being able to cut down the duration of 'acid attacks'
Remember, this is one of many acitivities to come, so don't overwhelm yourself. Enjoy and leave room for evaluation and improvement...you can alway make it greater later! :)
That is all I can think of at the moment, but I will get back with you on Friday as soon as I get estimates and timing on shipping. I would like to mail it out on Friday no later than Monday so I will email you early that morning.
Peace and Smiles!!! :)
aka Helena Hygiena!
They are expecting 1000 at the health fair. That is how many they got for the health fair they had a while back. CRAZY huh?
Send what you can. Let me know the postage so I can send you a check.
PS...do you have any other ideas for what we should use or provide?
We're think healthy snacks. Any suggestions?
THANKS for all the information Rhonda. You're AWESOME! I'm doing a dental fair on April 18 as well. The medical center IS nonprofit! YEA!
I'll get you their information and nonprofit #.
PS are you going to UOR?
we're off to Disneyland today. UGH!
The Science Night video at Bohnam Elementary School is a hit in Little Rock. Yesterday I had the opportunity to show it to students, teachers, and a few parents. They gave us a lot of positive feedback. Today I will be having lunch with several dental health care decision-makers. Look 2 hear from me later this afternoon.
RDHAP stands for Reg Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice. It means I can open my OWN practice. I'm contracted with all the nursing homes in our county. I'm starting in the schools SOON. I'm also opening my own office April 18. Do you have any pointers for me? I need a website...any ideas are WELCOMED :0) I also need an INEXPENSIVE place to buy tooth brushes. Almost all of my patients are on MediCaid so I don't get much money.
It would be great to meet you too, but no, the company (PennWell) only covers a few editors (Mark) and support staff to go to UOR, and I'm not among them. Bummer! I hear it's fabulous. Mark looks forward to it every year. Maybe one of these days I'll get to go. But thanks for asking. I hope you have a fantastic time. Keep in touch.
Love your page! No wonder you were the "Sunstar Award of Distinction winner for 2008"! I hope to attend UOR in 'Vegas...just need to see how things pan out. I would love to get together in Las Vegas with you and hang out if I go. I just found you on "Facebook" and asked you to be my "friend"! Tracey, Sue and Fran are on there too! I hope you have a fabulous day!
