Yesterday, I posted a blog where I mention the overall goodwill that seems to .... Today, I sit at my computer, listening to the news, and growing more sick to my stomach by the moment.
Reports are pouring in from Newtown, Conn., of the deaths of innocent children (a reported 18 as I write this) who were simply attending school on a Friday morning when a gunman took their lives. A few hours ago, this small Connecticut town was just a dot on the map. Now it's squarely in the center of the news.
I can't imagine the pain of losing a child, especially in such a senseless manner. I can't imagine what would push someone to act so callously and disrespect life so much. I can't imagine what the children and adults of Newtown are going through at this moment.
The debate over guns will rage over the next few days. It means very little at this moment. No matter your feelings on the subject, send your thoughts and prayers to Connecticut right now. They are desperately needed.

Drive 90 miles through MA and you are the border of Vermont; nothing like this should happen here in little ole new England..right? The pain that results will have lifetime impacts on many..it impacts all of us. The solution..is there one. it is not simply guns and control of them. Nothing like this happened for us in the 50's and 60's..at least not here in Vermont. It is a problem that starts seems to be escalating out of control. I am very relieved that i followed my heart and did not have children. This ain't Kansas or the fifties any more.
