What types of Dental Plans do you guys accept? Some Dental Insurance is very complicated and requires lots of paper work. Other plans are very simple. Which ones do you guys find the most friendly to new staff? Which plans do you find hard to learn? Any tips or advice welcome.

If my patient has a plan where he or she can see the dentist of their choice, and not an insurance MBA's choice, then their insurance can be used in my office.

If the insurance company insists on sending reimbursements only to their clients, rather than non-participating dentists (forcing them to reluctantly agree to unfair contracts), we will not wait on payment from the patient after the insurer pays them. Too many patients will simply take the money and never return. That sleazy, tyrannical Delta Dental and BCBSTX trick also works in big insurance's favor at the expense of patients and dentists.

I only hope I have the ability to continue to do business this way in the (oppressive) land of the free.

This is an excellent post. My office manager or demon does not allow any advice given in the operatories. She is a control freak but a very non dental person. She was hired by a CEO of a very large company who is also non dental..very complicated. Sometimes it is much simpler for a person to go through their work and put money away in a tax free plan to pay for their dental treatment. Even the best plans have a cap and many times, their treatment plans are rejected for whatever reasons. The person submitting the plan has to know what they are doing and has to understand the basics of dentistry or it can be a mess. Other offices are not like ours but insurances can be very frustrating.
