My Journey thru Dentistry

I started my journey by graduating from Diablo Valley College with a degree in Dental Hygiene. With great enthusiasm I went to work for a general practitioner and a periodontist. I really loved the work, especially the perio office. I set up and directed the patient care program, working with patients and other staff members to create an awsome patient education and home care program. The program was very patient compliant and as a result very successful. I credit a lot of the success to using and sharing the professional grade products.

At this time Sacramento City College was thinking of starting a dental hygiene program, under the direction of University of California SF dental school. I was instrumental in getting this off the ground, and taught there for several years. I taught clinical hygiene, histology, radiology, and ethics. Teaching was very rewarding for me and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

After much thought I applied for and was admitted into University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. I graduated from there and went to Sacramento to start my own dental office. Since I have a great respect for Hygienists, I hired two excellent hygienists and again set up the patient education and home care program using the same tried and true products. Many referrals were due to the excellent rapport and home care success that I had with my patients.

I have since moved to Washington State, and continue to work part time in a fellow dentist's office. My professional career now revolves around helping other hygienists and dentists set up their own successful patient home care program.
