The “Web Weaving” column by Lory Laughter in RDH magazine contains links to a variety of professional resources that are usually helpful. Sometimes, she will mention a website that will be merely fun or amusing to the dental professional.
We kind of forced Lory to be fun with the column that will be appearing in the February 2013 issue. The column kicks off a full year of the magazine’s columnists saying “Happy Birthday, dental hygiene!” since the profession turns 100 years…Continue
The good news is that we have our hiring process down to a science. Even better news, it’s run by the staff, so the dentists just have to meet and interview the candidates when they’re in for an observation – the staff takes care of…Continue

I'm so old that I'm the one who told Robert Browning that he ought to write a poem to Elizabeth Barrett. I'm so old that Cupid practiced his archery with me as one of his first targets.

Reports are pouring in from Newtown, Conn., of the deaths of innocent children (a reported 18 as I write this) who were simply attending school on a…
I can’t help it. I get sentimental this time of year. Part of it is the fact that I do love Christmas and the lights and the overall goodwill that seems to permeate humanity this time of year … but the other part is the thought of one year ending and another year beginning. In my mind, there’s something very definitive about the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve and knowing that the calendar has turned. It’s a time for new hope, new dreams, and a new start. It’s a time when the past can…Continue
