Latest fashion for teeth

There's a new trend for teeth in Japan that I hope doesn't make its way to the United States. Or maybe it's already made it and I missed it? It's LED lights for the teeth. Have any of you seen this in your offices?

Apparently young Japanese girls are the ones driving this latest fashion trend. What began as a prop for a commercial quickly became their in-demand item. These are flashing LED lights that change color and are worn on the teeth, and of course, are most noticeable and…

The #1 Killer In a Dental Practice: Indifference

Note: As a business consultant for the last 17 years working with dentists, I have seen many practice owners spending lots of money on fancy dental marketing ads and yet they do not seem to get the patients they want.

Author, Harry Beckwith, in his book 'Selling the Invisible said. “Your greatest competition is not your competition. It is indifference.”

It is so easy to be indifferent because the…

Want to be a part of the Super Bowl Club? I'm not sure I do.

Have you seen those VISA commercials where the men brag about going to the Super Bowl every year? On the surface, it sounds pretty amazing to me ... but it's interesting to hear how these men have given up on weddings, babies being born, and other "life events" to head to the Super Bowl every year.

I love this post I came across. I will tell you it has some religious overtones so if that offends you, don't click on it. There ... you were warned.

It's a great…

Roger Ebert's new face

Thanks in large part to David J. Reisberg, DDS, a craniofacial medicine professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago, film critic Roger Ebert can now go on the air with a new lower jaw. When thyroid cancer surgery led to most of Ebert's mandible being removed several years ago, his comeback was astonishing to his doctors, who had told him that if he lived, it would be with a disfigured face.

This held true for quite some time. But little did the public know a new lower jaw was…

"Man with the Golden Voice" visits the dentist

Ted Williams was understandably a bit nervous to visit the dentist after admitting he hadn't been for anything other than an extraction (and that was in jail) in over 20 years. His makeover was at the suggestion of Dr. Phil.

I wish I could catch the dentist's name in this video, http://tinyurl.com/6zjv57a. Unfortunately I can't, so if you find out who it is, please let me know! I'll also add his name when I learn it.

Whoever the dentist…

Kate Middleton teeth work

It seems Prince William's bride-to-be did her own make-up for the engagement photos, but not her own teeth. French orthodontist Dr. Didier Fillion had the privilege of making Kate's teeth perfect for the world to see during the big announcement. It seems Dr. Fillion specializes in a method of applying braces from behind the teeth so they are invisible.

According to the article, "He is the only practitioner in the world to use this method, which is more precise and cuts the amount of…

Why does a dentist need a website?

Simply put, it’s cheaper than any other form of advertising and it displays a lot more information than any other form of media.

Besides being a cost effective showcase to overview practice location(s), hours of operation, services and dentist/staff bio, a dental website gives your referring and prospective new patients a way to learn about, and interact with, your practice. After speaking with our…

"Peppy" dentist on The Bachelor

I don't watch The Bachelor. But when I heard there was a dentist competing, "peppy" Ashley Hebert from Maine who wraps up dental school in Philadelphia this May, I got online to catch up. First of all and most important (ha ha) Bachelor Brad Womack did not cut her the first night, so Ashley will be back for a second appearance at least. The Bachelor is on Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST.

Here's what some of the online reviews said about 26-year-old Ashley — "An overly spazzy dentist," "A…
