Patient satisfaction! As an EFDA I have to satisfy both the patient and the "Master". But patient satisfaction comes first..where would we be without them? It usually works out for the best for all of us!

On another note: In 1998 I think or '99- my co-worker and I tried to start a local society in our area. it started out very well but then it just died. I am in the Aiken SC area and the dental assistants just didn't seem interested. I thought about trying again, but my schedule is so full............ I don't know......??

Kevin Henry said… - Really, it depends on the focus of dentistry in the country in which they practice. In Japan, the hygienist and assistant are both called assistant and there seems to be a blurring of the lines in the roles there. When I hit the IDS show in Cologne, Germany, the trade show is full of dentists, but you rarely see any hygienists or assistants. It's definitely different than the U.S.!
