The number of times I have heard the word "girls"..I really wonder what would happen if the shoe was on the proverbial other foot and the term boys was bandied about. For the past two years we have been managed by a vicious, immature, underhanded ma…
As a former dental assistant, past member of ADAA, and former Vice-Chair for the Dental Assisting National Board, I left dental assisting to move into dental practice management. From this vantage point, I can say I have experienced being a dental a…

hey am also doing something like this, well its more of branding your self in the dental profession.
But I'll share my concerns. I agree with mary about patient satisfaction, since we are the ones interacting with the patient we need to really try to…
Patient satisfaction! As an EFDA I have to satisfy both the patient and the "Master". But patient satisfaction comes first..where would we be without them? It usually works out for the best for all of us!
New dental assisting campaign to begin soon, please help with brainstorming the top 3 concerns of dental assistants for 2010, and possible solutions. Look forward to hearing from you.- Tina
Hi Tina..... Yes the tornado ruined my weekend too. It actually hit our hotel and broke the window out of our room. And we had to stay in the room without a window. (But we were ok).
On another note: In 1998 I think or '99- my co-worker and I tried to start a local society in our area. it started out very well but then it just died. I am in the Aiken SC area and the dental assistants just didn't seem interested. I thought about trying again, but my schedule is so full............ I don't know......??
Hi Tina...
Of course I miss all of you! Things are going pretty good in Asheville. I did start a new job this past week and I am still adjusting, but it is going well. I do not have internet at my new house yet, so, I may delay responding to your messages. You have an open invitation to visit whenever you like! I love you all and hope to see you soon.
Really, it depends on the focus of dentistry in the country in which they practice. In Japan, the hygienist and assistant are both called assistant and there seems to be a blurring of the lines in the roles there. When I hit the IDS show in Cologne, Germany, the trade show is full of dentists, but you rarely see any hygienists or assistants. It's definitely different than the U.S.!
