This was very good to hear and so very timely. I wonder what other medical specialties were excluded form the IOM panel. What were they thinking when they initially decided to exclude oral health specialists?
Dr. Tankersley's statement really naile…
I read them and agree in concept, but you still could do well in spite of the many challenges. If there's a course in how to get to see dentists, take it. And make sure you have some money in the bank before you attempt to crack this nut.
It's been my experience that it all depends on the office and staff. Some offices have set times that the doctor will see sales reps. They are the best ones, but you have to find out when those times are and get some "sizzle" going with the office g…
Surely there's a way to have one's cake, and eat it, too. Are you postulating that the government's requirements will sour dentists on digital records to the point where they will actually go back to paper records and appointment books? Are you real…
I've noticed that Delta Dental is a turbocharged press release machine, cranking out at least one per week or more. Of course they are interested in getting their name out in front of as many faces as possible. Another observation is that DrBicuspid…
Ugh. I thought you were going for something catchy but more hygienic. Purulent exudate doesn't quite qualify, except for some of the stuff coming out of the ADA...
Thank you so much, Ted. It's exactly what I was looking after.
Also I am looking for software to book, chart, using a laptop....if you know IT companies offer dent software.
More Thanks in advance.
Right back atcha! I'm really enjoying the writers' group dialogue. Maybe we can get the scribes together in person for dinner & cocktails at the ADA. I'm sure Mark has a slush fund for this sort of thing ;-)
Wow, that sounds fantastic. I'm sure we'd love to go flying with you guys -- anywhere there's no shooting going on! I've been up flying with a friend several times in a very small rental, but nothing like your plane. I think the last time Joyce went flying in a small plane was nearly 33 years ago on our honeymoon. As I recall, she enjoyed it.
My friend Chet always tells me to be on the lookout for emergency landing areas. It tends to detract from the pleasure, but he's a painfully practical guy, and a disaster recovery specialist...guess that explains it...
Hi Ted:
Great to hear from you. My husband & I flew our Mooney airplane to Harbor Bay over the Labor Day weekend - so there was no swimming but the weather, water and the lobsters right on the beach were awesome. I was so surprised at the smell of water and how clean it was. Next time we go, we will fly down to get you and your honey, if you have never flown in a single engine airplane it will be an experience to remember!!!
The Blue Weenie has a belt drive Rotax engine, believe it or not. My R100RT was Old Paint, and the R1100RT was Swoopy. We also have a 1979 "Indian" moped named Older Paint.
That ST ought to be pretty similar in style to the Weenie, sort of half sport bike and half touring bike. I thought I wouldn't like the forward position, but it doesn't give me a problem. I rode it from Ohio to Iowa and back last September, and did fine. I put bar backs on it, and got the optional lower seat - I'm inseam challenged.
I'll have to take a picture of the Weenie as soon as it stops raining. I haven't been out yet this year - too busy running around like a chicken.
Hi Cathy, I won't be at UOR, but I'd love to talk bikes with you anytime! You've had quite a few, and I've had just a few since 1974 -- I can count them on one hand. Two bikes ago, I had a 1973 R60. We rode it everywhere (thought it was a touring bike!). Then in 1986, I bought a new Harley FXRD. I didn't ride it around town much, and I found it to be tricky on hilly terrain. In 1998 I bought a '97 Honda ST1100, which I still ride. I was sorely tempted to get another boxer. I had my eye on a frost green '96 R1100RT, but the local dealer wouldn't budge an inch on the price. So I'm happy with the Honda, which has been a "gas and go" machine since day one (it's got no "character," ha!) I'll send you a photo -- you send me one, too, OK? Is your F800ST a boxer?
Hi Ted - Dianne Glasscoe just asked me last week if I knew you, and I said I'd seen your name. So, nice to meet you (-: You must be a biker too, so spill it - what do you ride? That picture is of my '96 R100 RT, so you were pretty close. I later had 2000 R1100RT, which I think is the bike on the website, but it's gone too - way too big and heavy for a 50+ person with a herniated disk. Late last summer I got an F800ST BMW, and it's fabulous - only 430 pounds, and very sporty (-: I had to put a bigger windshield on it, which doesn't look as nice, but keeps me drier. I don't have a good picture of that one yet.
Will you be at UOR? We'll talk bikes.
Cathy
